Hello dear internet pals
I am slowly emerging from my holiday cocoon and easing into this new (gregorian calendar) year with an intention for so much softness, gentleness and tenderness.
If you’re into Tarot and numerology - 2025 is the year of The Hermit. The Hermit calls for going within, seeking our inner wisdom, discernment, and simplifying. It doesn’t ~necessarily~ mean isolating or being alone (although it can if that is what you need) but it does mean looking within and asking ourselves “What else is in here?”.
My “goals” for this year are to be soft and gentle. I’m ready to soften and see what flows when I just let go. I’m simplifying, I’m surrendering, I’m taking more mental health days, I’m saying “no” to what doesn’t serve me and I am saying a big resounding “yes” to myself, to wonder, to magic, to awe, and to play.
✨ What are you inviting in this year? ✨
If easing into the new year and taking your time to be very slow and mindful with your intention setting sounds appealing to you, I invite you to join me for my next class which will start on January 22nd.
🌜 Sacred Threads: Crafting Intentional Wall Art 🌛
In this class, we will explore intention setting in a meaningful, sustainable, and celebratory way and will create a physical representation of those intentions in the form of a small fabric wall hanging.
Using hand-sewing techniques, you’ll learn the art of appliqué and embroidery to bring your vision to life. Each stitch will be an act of mindfulness, weaving your aspirations into a tangible work of art. We'll also explore ways to incorporate magical practices into your creative process, making this project not just a craft but a meaningful ritual.
Whether you're an experienced crafter or new to sewing, this class is designed to guide you step by step in creating a piece that inspires and uplifts you throughout the year. By the end, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind wall hanging infused with your intentions and the joy of mindful making.
Speaking of classes…
I loved teaching Magic Vest Class this past Fall and am feeling really fulfilled by this new avenue of Thread + Sprout. There will be more classes and smaller workshops offered over the next year (and hopefully beyond). Stay tuned for what all will be in store this year!
I’m so glad that I decided to take Justice‘s magic vest class. In addition to learning the practical skills needed to make my own vest, I came away with a newfound appreciation for working on projects slowly and with intention, thanks to Justice’s prompts. I really appreciated the additional lessons on topics like color theory, community, and symbols, but most of all it was such a joy to spend those 2 hours each week in community with like-minded sewists. And I have worn my vest every single day since finishing it!

Some things I’ve been enjoying
The Moonbeaming podcast - particularly this episode on the Hermit Year
We binge-watched the show High Potential over the last few weeks and very much enjoyed it
Reading
over winter break I read the third book in the Lost Queen series by Signe Pike which is one of my favorite series ever - great for fans of Arthurian legends and those interested in old Scottish, Celtic, and Pictish traditions and history
I am also reading the fifth book in Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive - highly recommend for fans of high fantasy with complex world building and magic systems and books that will take you 2-3 months to read

That’s all for now. Thank you for being here!
xoxo

Hi Justice! First of all I was gifted one of your sweatshirts over the holidays - Yay! I LOVE it and I just had to say that the Lost Queen series is one of my very favorites too! Someday I’m going to wander around the north of Britain and soak up the energy of the magical sites in those stories. To amuse myself I’ve been taking Scottish Gaelic on Duolingo. So fun 🤩
